Body Types

Dumpster Body Type refers to the material that the main body (or bin) of your dumpster is made out of.

Your dumpster body will either be made of Metal or Plastic.

Lid Types:

Dumpster Lid Types refers to the material that the lid of your dumpster is made of.

Your dumpster lid will either be made of Metal or Plastic.

Metal

If your lid is made of metal, we may need to send you a Lid Weight measuring kit. This is so that we ensure the Kleen Opener we send you will be able to lift the weight of your lid.

Plastic

Most dumpsters have plastic lids.

Lid Quality

Dumpster Lid Quality is a unique specification that we have worked on over time. It is important information for us because depending on a certain combination of selections, we may need to send you and even more custom product!

Flexible

A Flexible Lid is one that is very movable and bendy. You can identify if you have a flexible lid by raising the lid from the corner. The entire lid will not raise. The lid will droop towards the center of the dumpster. These lids are not sturdy.

Solid

A Solid Lid is one that is more sturdy. You can identify if you have a solid lid by raising the lid from the corner. If the entire lid raises remaining mostly straight and horizontal then it is a solid lid. These lids are not super bendy or flexible.

Measuring the Dumpster

Width of Top Rail

First it is important to measure the correct top rail. You will want to measure the top rail of the side wall of your dumpster. (This is where the Kleen Opener will be mounted.) Measure across the top rail as shown in the picture.

Measure in INCHES. Be as accurate as possible.

Length of Dumpster Lid

To measure the length of your lid start with the lid closed. Measure starting from the back hinge of the dumpster. Measure flat down the lid to the front edge. (Measure to the front edge of the lid, not the front edge of the dumpster.)

Measure in INCHES.

Dumpster Mount Types

There are 7 Dumpster Mount Types. Scroll down to determine your Dumpster's Mount Type

Mount Type #1 : Metal Angled Inner

Metal Angled Inner Dumpsters have a metal body, meaning the main structure and walls of the dumpster are made of metal (this is separate from the material of the lid). Additionally, these dumpsters have an angle from the top rail to the inner wall of the dumpster.

To identify the Angled Inner Top Rail, look at either the left side or right side wall of the dumpster from the inside. You will see that the Inner Top Side Rail of the dumpster angles down into the inner wall of the dumpster before the wall runs flat down the base.

Mount Type #2: Metal Flat with Lower Inner Liner

Metal Flat Dumpsters have a metal body and have an Inner Metal Liner welded to the inner Flat wall of the Dumpster; where the welded metal liner is just below the Top Side Rail of the Dumpster.

To identify the Metal Flat with Lower Inner Liner, look at either the left side or right-side wall of the dumpster from the inside. You will see just below the top side rail of the dumpster a Metal Liner that runs flat and parallel with the inner wall of the dumpster.

Mount Type #3: Metal Flat without Metal Liner

Some Metal Flat Dumpsters with a metal body have Flat Inner Side without a Metal Liner for the first 2 to 3 inches below the Top Side Rail of the Dumpster.

To identify the Metal Flat Dumpster without a Metal Liner, look at either the left side or right-side wall of the dumpster from the inside. You will see just below the top side rail of the dumpster does not have a Metal Liner for at least 2 to 3 inches below the Top Side Rail of the Dumpster’s Inner Wall.

Mount Type #4: Metal Flat with Raised Inner Liner

Some Metal Flat Dumpsters with a metal body have Flat Inner Side with a Metal Liner that is welded to the Top Rail and can extend anywhere from a ¼ inch to 1 inch above the side Top Rail of the Dumpster.

To identify the Metal Flat Dumpster with a Raised Metal Liner, look at either the left side or right-side wall of the dumpster from the inside. You will see a Raised Metal Liner that extends above the Dumpster’s Top Side Rail anywhere from ¼ inch to 1 inch.

Mount Type #5: Metal Flat with Flat Extended Lip

Some Metal Flat Dumpsters with a metal body have a Flat Extended Lip that extends out as part of the Dumpster’s Top Side Rail anywhere from 1 inch to 3 inches as part of the Top Rail of the Dumpster.

To identify the Metal Flat Dumpster with an Extended Lip, look at either the left side or right-side wall of the dumpster from the inside. You will see the Top Side Rail extends anywhere from 1 inch to 3 inches and has a Flat under-side that is perpendicular to the Inner Side Wall of the Dumpster’s Body.

Mount Type #6: Plastic Flat Inner

Plastic Flat Inner is for dumpsters with a plastic body, meaning the main structure and walls of the dumpster are made of plastic (this is separate from the material of the lid).

These plastic dumpsters are made more rigid and solid. The side walls tend to be of higher quality plastic and are perpendicular to the back wall (where the lid is mounted).

The side walls and Side Top Rail of these Plastic Dumpsters are most likely to remain straight and not bow or curve (as they tend to do for Mount Type #7).

If you have a plastic dumpster with a Side Top Rail from 2 to 5 inches wide, then most likely this is your dumpster type.

Mount Type #7: Plastic with Inner Lip

Dumpsters with a Plastic Inner Lip have a plastic body, meaning the main structure and walls of the dumpster are made of plastic (this is separate from the material of the lid). Additionally, these dumpsters have a lip or edge that sticks out on the inner wall.

To identify a Dumpster with an Inner lip, look at either the left side or right-side wall of the dumpster from the inside. A couple of inches down from the top side rail of the dumpster there is a lip that sticks out, before returning to the flat inner wall; as shown in the images above.

Additionally, these dumpsters are usually made from a more pliable plastic. This can be seen when standing in front of the dumpster and looking down the Side Rail, towards the back of the dumpster, the side walls bow (curve out) either due to overloading of the dumpster or the heat and cold elements affecting the plastic.
